- francesca claydon Review added: 2018.06.14★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆We went there one Saturday at 3pm two hours before close with a £20 voucher we had bought from a silent charity auction. We paid £19 for this, not that it mattered. However when we got there most things were gone, all packed away. So we asked what we could get with our voucher since there was barely anything out. My partner said he would be looking for steak, sausages etc. They said we could have steaks, my partner chose a rump for myself and a fillet for himself. He came out and I was shocked that for £20 we got two small steaks, in no carrier bag, with no receipt. I was thinking that perhaps they were really good cuts of meat and we just couldn’t see properly through the packaging. When I got home they were both bad cuts, fatty and poor.
We were basically conned. We aren’t from Bury we travelled a distant to buy meat specifically from this butchers. We walked down to Eleys butchers (much better) to get everything else we required that day. They closed at the same time, had everything we wanted plus more and were queued out the door. Definitely recommend rather than Humpheries. Very poor. I would of rather donated the money to the charity, than travel all that way.
